Season Diary 2

Entry #2: Return from Snake Mountain (not Castle Greyskull!)

I have just caught up with the highlights from Saturday through the BBC website, suppose you could say we were unlucky, Combe played immense and saved us, we lost what in my opinion was a soft penalty, Novo was always going down, suppose its big Pasca's own fault for letting him have it, and a wee deflection saw them score the second and win 2-1. I mean we dont usually go one up, home or away in these games so we can take something out of it. Its just a pity Wattie Smith doesnt class Killie as one of the big teams or we wouldnt have to face Kris Boyd, eleven goals since he left us for them, if i counted back or did a modicum of research i could proably find out what ratio that is, but i am not going to, safe to say i am pretty sure its more than one a game, might even be approaching two. What he used to do to Dundee Utd when he played with us he now does to us, its pretty fucking horrible i have to say. I hate the way he celebrates too, no doubt this is the way he always does it but agianst Killie its as if he revels in it, that big crabbit face contorted into a grimace of "get it up ye's ya Killie basturts!" or so it seems to me, makes me sad because we worshipped him when he was at us and most Rangers fans think he is pish but he seems to revel in scoring against us Killie fans. Thing is, a great many killie fans i know stick up for him in pub debates over his relative merits, the whole "doesnt do enough work", "all he does is score goals" debates and he does this to us, 11 goals! Or maybe i am totally over analysing it.

Anyway i took in the game on Saturday old school, was working but as we were on a good run a radio was brought through to listen to the game, no MTV generation stuff for us. (I actually miss listening to the fitba on a Saturday afternoon, used to do it regular but work pretty much rules it out, Off the Ball, then Murdo, Traynor, Chick and the likes talking pish, the game of the day with its shooting left to right banter then the phone in, and naturally Jeff Stelling and the boys on mute on the TV so you can check how your coupon is doing, Saturday heaven. Hardly even hear it midweek anymore, most games are on tv anyway, its a shame actually) It was pretty exciting as it goes, up one nil at half time was an anxious feeling for me in a pub in Killie, must have been fill your pants stuff to be there.

Actually I know lads who were there plenty of them amongst the 600 strong away support, one who I am friendly with got ejected and spent the weekend in the Govan cells for shouting what the police deem as "sectarian abuse" at the home fans, irony of all ironies since we are talking about Ibrox. Wont go into any more detail except to say that as usual the police take a hard line with the minority, 600 is easier to deal with and make examples from than the other 50 odd thousand. Not saying he was right to shout that, ultimately it wasn't but it sticks in your gullet that the last time they were required for domestic football purposes was a fortnight before at Parkhead for the Old Firm and its a gimme that worse was shouted and sung by a hell of a lot more people and if they take the letter of the law then 50,000 plus would be spending time in cells in Glasgow.

On a lighter note i have no ticket for Sundays powderkeg 4pm for the tv clash with Celtic. i am actively seeking one for free through generous souls or competitions because i am skint but more on that soon.
